Shae’s career in sports medicine was ignited by her passion for athletics. After retirement from professional sports, Shae attended Physician Assistant School at Red Rocks College in Lakewood, Colorado and completed her Masters Degree through St. Francis University. She has undergone two right shoulder surgeries and a right knee ACL reconstruction. Shae has been working in sports medicine since 2007. Shae wrote and published GRAFTOLOGY in April 2021.
Shae has been a speaker for the National Womens Sports Foundation, guest faculty and guest speaker at medical device and donor tissue companies.
GRAFTOLOGY book focuses on sports medicine graft preparation, concepts and pearls. She wrote, did drawings, and published the book. All of the pictures are from the operating room. Final edits and printing completed by Bayside Printing in Houston.
Shae attended the University of Nebraska where she played shortstop and completed Bachelors degree in exercise science. After college she went on to play professional baseball for the Colorado SilverBullets women’s professional baseball team. The SilverBullets played against mens teams. The Colorado SilverBullets were inducted into the baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown in June 1995.
Shae has worked for ESPN+ as a color analyst for college softball games at the University of Houston.
